Train the Virtual Trainer1 dayClassroom

Most organisations today either deliver or are considering virtual classroom training. With reduced L&D budgets and restrictions on travel it’s becoming a cost-effective choice for course delivery. Many of our clients believe this to be a new way to provide the interactivity and instructor direction of a physical classroom in an online environment.

A good virtual classroom session is like a good face-to-face session – interactive. It’s important to engage your learners using the skills you’d use face-to-face, encouraging exploration and providing plenty of opportunities for practice. This is even more important in the virtual classroom, because you can lose your audience and not even know that they’ve gone. Trainers need to be creative to use the facilities provided by the software in ensuring maximum participation.

This face-to-face 1-day course allows existing classroom trainers to adapt to this new format, modify training materials to be extremely visual, allowing plenty of opportunities for learners to interact using online tools. It is designed to build confidence as well as competence, and allows participants to develop and dry run their material in the Virtual environment with immediate feedback from their peers.

The returning participants will benefit your organisation by being able to:

  • confidently deliver remote training
  • design Virtual learning sessions
  • use various techniques for engaging and motivating a Virtual group
  • adapt session design to the different Learning Styles
  • know how to design pre-event, intra-session and follow up activities to maximise the learning
  • address personal concerns about running Virtual training
  • use the tools within the technology appropriately to support learning
  • create effective PowerPoint slides which support rather than undermine the learning
  • be aware of how they look and sound over the Internet
  • know what is possible and what is not using Virtual training

Note: This course will NOT cover the techniques specific to the various technologies. This is not a technical training course.

Course Pre-Work

An online self assessment survey is completed by all participants before the course. This gives the trainer input into how to pitch the level of the course and build in specific requests from the group. It is also used at the end of the course to assess the level of progress that has been made within the day.
