Business and Financial Training from The Matchett Group
We are committed to making significant investments each year in ensuring your learners have access to best-in-class content in the fields of Business Skills, Personal Development, Professional Skills and Leadership & Management. We review our entire curriculum of over 130 courses every year to make sure that the content is fresh, exciting and meaningful. The development of new courses is primarily driven by the ideas which arise primarily from our client engagements and market research. This approach results in a portfolio of ‘off the rack’ courses that satisfy actual rather than imagined business needs and which in turn deliver the best returns for your investment in your people.
Around 30 of our off the rack courses are offered as Public events, at various locations in Central London and the Midlands. This can be a cost-effective solution if you have small numbers of people to train, if you would like your staff to network with people from other organisations, or if you simply want to try us out.
For strategic or larger-scale training programmes, it is unlikely that your needs and objectives will be fully met by an off the rack course. The amount of tailoring required varies considerably according to individual client demands and circumstances: from inclusion of specific case studies to full bespoke creation. We are experts in Business Simulation which ensures the tailormade training experience is as close to your learners’ real working environment as possible, ensuring their application of new skills is immediate and relevant. With our extensive off the rack curriculum providing a baseline for content, you can be confident that Matchett can create your tailormade programme to best in class standards, without breaking the bank in the process.
With regard to tailormade, it’s not just a question of what the content is, but how it is created. Our development process balances the needs for quality and efficiency with requirements and costs. Following an initial discussion with you about your key requirements (which may include a Training Needs Analysis) with one of our Principal Consultants, we follow a staged development lifecycle, which is both scaleable and flexible. This cycle, which begins with course design, is initiated following your formal acceptance of our proposal. We can briefly explain the purpose and deliverables from each stage as follows:
Design |
On your acceptance of our proposal, we will confirm your requirements then create a detailed Course Design Document, which defines the Learner Profile, Duration, Content and Timetable. |
Develop |
On approval of the Course Design Document, we then develop the materials which will support the course. These typically include a Reference Guide, Learning Journal, Course Handouts and Trainer Notes. Materials can be branded and presented in formats other than the Matchett standard. |
Pilot |
Following your approval of the materials and depending on the level of tailoring/variation from an off the rack course, we recommend that you pilot the course before going live. If the programme is sufficiently complex and large-scale, we may also recommend that time is set aside for preparation of the training team. |
Implement |
Training is delivered to the learners by a skilled training team aligned with your values and culture. |
Evaluate |
As part of the course design process, our principal consultant will agree a set of performance indicators with you, which can be used to evaluate the training and your return on investment. |
Around 85% of our clients for inhouse courses choose our tailormade service because it delivers the best returns for their investments in training in terms of people’s performance.
Most of our clients choose to run our courses inhouse, as this provides the flexibility and cost-efficiency that their business demands from its learning and development solutions. We deliver inhouse training programmes across the globe, supported by operational offices in New York and Mumbai, as well as the UK. Through our network of European training associates, we can also offer inhouse courses in local languages, where required. For internal training departments with limited course development resources, we are pleased to offer a selection of our off the rack courses under a Courseware Licensing agreement.
