Programme Objectives

By the end of a programme participants will:


  • Have a clear understanding of the supplier - customer relationship as an end to end process from identifying the need, identifying potential suppliers, selecting, engaging, managing the contract through to renewal or exit
  • Be able to effectively contribute to a supplier selection project, working with customers, strategic sourcing/ procurement, and legal teams in the business
  • Be able to contribute to the production of SLAs and the definition of the KPIs which will underpin the measurement of the supplier performance
  • Have the skills to apply a range of management and influencing behaviours to ensure the optimum performance of the supplier throughout all phases of the contract
  • Be able to establish and manage supplier review meetings and other forums
  • Be confident in handling supplier performance issues decisively and instigating performance recovery plans
  • Know how to create the balance of "managing on the contract", with "developing the relationship" to extract the most value from the supplier.
