As the next half of the financial year begins to kick in, and with new budgets being set, additional pressure is being put upon everyone in this tough economic climate. Tough times require tough minds, but how well do we handle all the pressures of life and work? Stress is an inside / out process, literally our thinking makes us feel stressed, not the length of our to-do list. So it is possible to re-train the brain to think differently and most importantly act differently? Matchett Group can show you how with our Stress and Pressure Management course. In addition to this, our Business Acumen course will also help relieve pressure by providing an understanding of key drivers of profitable and sustainable growth in businesses who are operating in a competitive environment under challenging economic conditions.
We’ve taken just a few tips on managing stress to give a taster of the advice we have on offer:
Create more variety in your life
Living in a rut can result in harmful stress and any form of monotony can create pressure, so try to change the pattern of your life. Take up new interests, change the routines of your life and meet the need within you for self-expression.
Don’t worry?
It’s easy enough to say, but worry can become a habit that occupies far too much of a person’s time and mental energy. Ask yourself how these problems really affect you. Are they important in your life? Do they really affect you or do they just make you fearful? This sort of objectivity helps you take the next step in reducing problems to size.
It’s good to talk
Stress can be greatly reduced by talking it over with someone you trust. This may be your partner, a close friend or colleague, or possibly a professional counsellor. Talking releases the pressures, especially if you are too close to a situation to remain objective, or if it is an emotionally charged situation.
