LMS System Manager2 days


One of the LMS’ strengths is its flexibility and ability to match change within your organisation. This might require the additional of new fields to store additional information, up-dating the values in lookup tables or even editing and/or developing its security scheme. This two-day course will introduce those responsible for the design and maintenance of the LMS to the System Manager Programme and its functions.

  • Understanding what is meant by System Management and the various Windows and Web Based programmes that make up the LMS
  • Using the Concurrency Monitor and System Center to monitor usage
  • Reviewing the system’s fields to ensure that the information recorded continues to meet the organisation’s needs
  • Adding and keeping Field Look-Up Tables up-to-date, providing guidance to users and helping to maintain data integrity
  • Creating and maintaining an appropriate Security Scheme including the set up of passwords and profiles including Class Owners, Field, Function and Partition Tables, Approval rules and Reporting rights
  • Implementing different views to aid users in the day-to-day administration of training events
  • Gaining the knowledge to perform global changes when required
  • Setting up Course and Class Info Sections for inclusion in letters, reports and the Student Center, as well as To Do Tasks and People to help manage training activity within business areas and / or the organisation
  • Understanding, implementing and amending Registration Screening Controls
  • Showing awareness of settings required to enable online learning, virtual training, testing and skill assessments

Inroducing the System Manager Programme and its functions.

Pre-requisites

Participants should be comfortable working in both a Windows and Web based environment and have a general understanding of the LMS and how it is or will be used in their organisation. They do not have to be Database Administrators (DBAs), but familiarity with other databases would be and advantage. Attendance at a LMS Training Administration Workshop is also strongly recommended.
