Strategy Services
Thirty-five years experience understanding clients’ businesses.
Learning systems that bring the right learning and development to the right people can really transform an organisation. Getting workforces ‘ready for business’, through the effective use of learning technology, can increase revenues and workforce productivity, improve customer service and regulatory compliance and, through automating processes, can reduce manual efforts and cost.
Our Strategy Services team focuses on these business improvements – they help learning and business professionals to answer complex questions about the best ways to define and implement learning solutions.
Process Review
A fundamental step before implementing learning technology is to ensure the business and training management processes are clearly defined, for example those around enrolment, training needs analysis, communications and evaluation, to mention but a few. Matchett will explore and challenge your existing processes, identify where there are gaps and provide detailed analysis and recommendations on how these processes and procedures can be mapped into the chosen learning technology.
Strategic Learning Direction
Matchett brings business experience, proven methods, energy and innovation into creating learning strategies. The most effective learning strategies embed learning into day-to-day activities and organisational cultures. Whilst learning strategies will differ between different organisations, Matchett has considerable experience in reviewing the learning organisation’s goals and business drivers and mapping them onto a clearly defined strategic framework for developing, implementing and delivering learning, paying particular attention to where learning solutions can be integrated into the business – permanently entrenching learning into the organisation’s culture.
Content Strategy
Moving from classroom training to an integrated learning environment can be a daunting prospect. Working with our experienced content consultants and your training team, Matchett will assist you to identify the next steps and how to integrate other learning delivery methods, such as e-learning and online forums, into your training portfolio. This may be something you wish to own, define and create yourself or be a collaboration effort with our team to develop a cohesive training and content development framework. By reviewing your content requirements, learning objectives and skills requirements we can work with subject-matter experts to define the appropriate delivery methods and identify the learning development tools that will be needed.
Performance & Talent Management
Managing performance is high up on the business agenda with organisations working hard to introduce appraisal processes, clearly defined roles for their people, competency frameworks and identifying where skills and knowledge gaps may compromise the performance needed. Yet frequently the mechanisms for the day-to-day, practical management of these processes and methods lack integration with the business’s own learning and support activities. This service looks closely at the client’s performance management methods, defines where improvements will have the greatest effect and how they can be properly integrated to deliver heightened levels of performance for the business.
Compliance Strategy
Working with the client we will identify and build any regulatory learning, assessment and verification processes into the specifications for new systems and learning processes building on our experience in developing compliance programmes for the automotive, insurance, finance and healthcare sectors, amongst others.
Marketing and Rollout Strategy
Matchett will identify the critical communications and marketing requirements needed to embed the new system fully into the culture and day-to-day activities of the client’s wider business, ensuring ‘buy-in’ is obtained successfully from managers and other users from across the organisation. An internal marketing communications plan is produced that considers the best communication methods, timescales and budget.
Learning Systems Requirements
Working with key contacts from the client’s HR, IT and learning & development functions, Matchett provides an independent assessment of the client’s learning management requirements and ensures managers understand the expectations for the new system. The output of this session is a requirements analysis and recommendations paper that will provide a clear understanding of the learning management standards, technical specification and requirements, resources and new technology investments that will be needed across the business.
Best Practice
Matchett has considerable insight, experience and industry connections that help it to determine where best practices in the wider learning marketplace can be found. By understanding clients’ goals and objectives we can share our knowledge and experience to provide the necessary support and guidance. Comparisons with external best practices and their potential application within the client’s own projects and learning-related business processes are provided.
With thirty-five years’ working with learning organisations and learning systems, we are able to offer a wealth of practical experience to our clients and provide all of the learning technology products and services needed in a world-class learning system – and all from a single supplier, Matchett.
