The Apprentice

Over the next 2 days you are going to be put through your paces as a team. You will be set a series of demanding challenges, and we are going to see how well you respond to them. Be prepared for some tough questioning after each of them, as you are all accountable for the team’s result. Good luck.

By the end of this event, you will:

• Appreciate different styles of team working and the relative strengths of each approach
• Gain a greater understanding of your preferred style of working and the impact you have on other team members
• See how the team stands up under scrutiny from above
• Learn what drives your colleagues
• Know how you manage conflict and change under pressure
• Create personal learning plans for improving yourself and your team

If we are lucky we will be able to work with a senior leader in your organisation to act as the Chairman of the Board, which will debrief each of the challenges you will be set. For some this may be a trifle uncomfortable, but nonetheless a valuable way of seeing how well they stand up to scrutiny from above.

This event is an excellent way of assessing how well a team walks the talk. When under pressure, how well does it measure up to competition? How hungry is the team for success? How motivated is the team to carry out these tasks, and what happens when the going gets tough?

Only put your team through this experience if you are prepared for some tough talking. No one gets hurt, of course, but it is possible that some egos might get a bit bruised!

The challenges themselves will be tailored to location, the number of people, how long we have to play with and to an extent the budget.
